Agnes Szanyi Felkl -
Obtained M.SC. in architecture and building construction at the technical
University of Budapest, in 1984. Started working in the
building industry, until 1987, when I joined the Hungarian Patent Office, now
Intellectual Property Office of Hungary. I started there in the Department of
Patent Information which later has broadened its profile and in the early nineties
was renamed as the Industrial Property Information Department. In 1996 I have moved to
the newly formed Trade Marks and Designs Department of the HPO, where I worked
with International Trade Mark applications, participated in various working
groups of WIPO and became the contact person to EUIPO (then: OHIM). In 1998 I have also
obtained my post garduate degree in intellectual property law, which
constitutes the Hungarian legal degree necessary for representation in IP
matters before the Hungarian Courts. When Hungary was about to
join the European Union, EUIPO was recruiting staff from the 10 new Member
States well in advance, to have them trained and ready to work from the moment
of accession. I applied for a job, and started as a trade mark examiner, in the
core business, in September 2003. In
2006 I was appointed legal advisor of one of the services of the Trade marks
and Cancellation Department. The next year I was already appointed to be a
Member of the Boards of Appeal by the Administrative Board. After being
re-elected, I'm serving my second term, working in both the Fifth Board (Trade
Marks) and the Third Board (Designs).
My main working languages
are English, Hungarian (my mother tongue), and German. I also speak Russian and
Finnish, and learned Spanish and French to acertain extent.

Gordon Humphreys is currently Chairperson of the Fifth Board of Appeal at EUIPO, having joined the Boards as a Member in 2005.
He was Head of the Register Service from 2002-2005 and joined EUIPO's Legal Department in 1997. He is also an accredited mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a member of the EUIPO Mediation Service. Prior to working at EUIPO, he was in private practice in Luxembourg and Brussels and qualified both as a barrister and a Belgian avocat. Gordon was educated at the universities of Buckingham, Cardiff and Liège. He also frequently speaks and writes on trade mark and design matters.
A Magyar Védjegy Egyesület és az Európai Unió Szellemi Tulajdon Védelmi Hivatala (EUIPO) mellett működő Fellebbezési Tanács (Boards of Appeal) közös rendezvényt tart, ahol az európai védjegy és a formatervezési-minta (design) gyakorlat aktuális kérdéseit mutatják be.
Az előadók között köszönthetjük majd a Fellebbezési
Tanács elnökét, valamint a Tanácsok több tagját. A résztvevők számára kiváló
alkalom nyílik majd az előadások megismerésén túl közvetlen kérdéseket intézni
az előadókhoz.
